Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2023-11-25T04:30Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2023-11-25T04:30:00-IPS-001 (version 3)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Characterized by an amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from ~7nT at 2023-11-25T04:30Z to ~20nT at 08:00Z. Density, temperature and speed data are sparse, but an increase in solar wind speed can be observed from ~400 km/s at 06:00Z to ~700 km/s at 09:00Z. This IPS was previously linked to CME: 2023-11-22T06:48Z in addition to CME: 2023-11-22T21:36Z. Upon further analysis with more solar wind data, this IPS is likely associated with the arrival of CME: 2023-11-22T21:36Z, and there may also be influence from a coronal hole high speed stream from a coronal hole that crossed the central meridian on 2023-11-23. This HSS have been detected at L1 on 2023-11-24. However, this HSS was not clearly detected in the available STEREO A PLASTIC data.
